Divorce Advice from The OSO Brotherhood
As the title describes, I assume this to be a good place for Divorce advice from gentlemen with significant assets, and higher than average net worth.
I have found myself in a difficult situation wherein Divorce seems imminent.
This is not a place I expected or desired for myself at this point in my life, but I need to prepare for the next chapter.
I guess since our children are grown it just amounts to a division of property, but a list of Do’s and Dont’s would be appreciated.
Houses
Business
Autos
Boats
Rv’s
Toy’s
Investments
How do you decide what to keep, and what to just give up?
What were your biggest mistakes in a divorce?
What do you wish you would have done different if you had the opportunity?
Thanks for your help guys. I will add questions to this post as they arise.

Being a performance boating site, I'd say go boat in FL and bring tons of cocaine and hookers. A few Fountain skanks too, maybe. Maybe even a few friends if they are good with that too.

May be a new member, maybe not, but if someone was going to ask this kind of question, don't see them wanting everyone to know who it is. On the other hand, not sure someone which has been in the same place would want to divulge good/bad ideas from the past.
Probably not in you same wealth category, but try to work it out the division between the two of you. Have found in most cases, if attorney's get involved the division will be much less for both, and attorney's will be better off.

I promise I am not going to ask for anyone’s credit card information, or social security numbers.
I was hoping to get some serious responses to a bad situation from some guys that have gone before me.
Thanks to those who care to help.

We worked out details before using just her attorney, and her attorney was pissed (I liked that)
I choose long term investments over real estate and other things. This was 30+ years ago and I'm doing just fine, and shes still working. Only really bad thing was moving out with her boy friend sitting at the dining room table
