Cigarette Marauder 50 or Outerlimits SL50
Hi to all,
Not a newbie to boating by far, but an absolute newbie to high performance boats. Looking to take the plunge on one of these two, slightly used boats. From the ones who know, what would you suggest? Differences etc? Thanks! |

I’ll take a few bags of that popcorn....
1 is completely custom, epoxy resin, foam and composite stringers, core, and transom. the other has classic styling, and build techniques. |
OL will be lighter and faster with same power , the Cig will crush wave's better being a heavier boat , Just my thoughts , both great looking boats
|
The winter threads are starting to pick up lately... :food-smiley-007:

Both have the appropriate oval on the side so your good to go
|
As you're an "absolute newbie to high performance boats" I'm sure either boat would be awesome.
I hope you've done some homework on the cost of maintenance, specifically engine options. These things like to run but they like to be loved too. Look at both and buy the one you think looks nicest. :) RR |
I’m not usually the one to point this out but...Darr??

Him or not, the dude's left a heck of a legacy here :lolhit: |
neither come in a box of Trix, and if your new to boating, you have no business trying to run a 100+ mph boat the size of a semi trailer, Not to mentions the side splitting laughter of the underwriter when you try to insure it,
Pros and cons if you really must... Fountain skanks have been known to defect when given the opportunity to ride in an outerlimits.... With the Marauder, you can stick your chest out and exclaim "why yes it is !" when some guy at the boat launch asks if thats one of those "cigar boats"...FYI, no matter what engines you get in it, thats guy has an exwife with a cousin that has a cigar boat with a pair of corvette motors and its definitely faster. (he will gladley hook you up with his exwife if you take him for a ride though...) |
