welcome to the club. I was going to buy Norwegian last night before close at 13$. Smh...closes up 30%.

this rally is kind of a joke IMO... It’s propped up by imaginary money and hope. Doesn’t seem to be any reason to short the market anymore if you can just print money. Oh well. Is what it is.

ICDEDPPL 04-29-2020 06:41 PM

I sold it because they had a lot of debt and Carnival didn`t , so I sold RCL and picked up Carnival,
that was not a good move, Carnival kept dropped immediately after I bought it and Royal kept going up .... so after the last 2 days I`m finally even on Carnival , I should probably sell it but then if it keeps going up like Royal I`ll be pissed lol

Tesla at almost $900 a share is comical...I see major headwinds for them. Not sure what investors are thinking. Oil is super cheap, there cars are expensive...who knows. Do the opposite of what you think and you’ll make money apparently.

I bought it at $5.32 thanks to someone on this site mentioning it, and I don't even have a boat anymore haha. I only wish I bought 10 times what I did, but you know what they say. Also did well on PBF but bought even less than I did of HAL...some money is better than no money I guess, first time i've ever dabbled in stocks. Probably like the casino, you win big the first time you go then your tied into a lifetime of ups and downs chasing it.

Madman7 04-30-2020 10:48 AM

HAL has been on my watch list forever. Bought it back 4 weeks ago and I'm doing well. Wanted to buy a few thousand more shares of this and SLB, but it keeps running and I'm not going to chase it. Especially when I see pictures of all this oil equipment in a dusty lot furloughed.

Real estate is tangible to investors, the stocks not so much.

The cruise lines got another hit today, not re-opening until june/july.

My parents bought nearly an entire floor of ocean front condos out of foreclosure in Port A in the early 80's-- refurbed and rented with success and sold off a few that as they reached the age it was hard to keep up with the routine items.
The ones they have left they are willing to taking a loss after hurricane claims but can't give away at the moment due to rental restrictions--YMMV.

Nothing personel 353 05-01-2020 07:15 PM

Also Apple 1 year 2.5 & Chase 5 year 3%

Nothing personel 353 05-01-2020 07:17 PM

Very tough if we get going again offer a month free or any perk it will come back slow

Confused me again. Bought in 80s. And can't sell now. What's the hurry after 35 or so years. And having a hard time believing 35 years later they did bad on that investment.

They took a direct hit from Hurricane Harvey in August of 2017 and have had no income from the units since then. Insurance paid only part of the cost to repair. Their association had just started to book rentals and now the covid restrictions have blocked out any stay less than 30 days--weekly rentals were the balance of their business.
I'm sure overall it has worked out--but at 85 it's a bad time to try and step away in the face of a looming recession and zero demand.
Real estate is cyclic in nature and lacks liquidity -YMMV.

So, what to buy? What sector to sell?

I was thinking the same thing. Im sure there are some very interesting opportunities but come with some high risk at this point. No risk no reward. I'm fairly conservative with the bulk but have no problem taking a longer shot with a small percentage now and then.

VortechSS 11-10-2020 12:19 PM

With the Rona vaccine around the corner in 2021, I'm thinking it may be getting close to the right time to bring some airlines back into the portfolio.

TrippM 11-10-2020 03:25 PM

Cruise lines are still cheap. Might take a year or so for them to get back to previous highs.

I'm fairly interested in Bitcoin at the moment - been buying small amount lately to learn the 'system'. It's initially, complicated, from a pure stock/mutual fund buyer perspective, but not impossible. If you haven't dove into it yet - you should at least take a look and see if it's worth your gamble. A few financial institutions are interested, as well.

Slow Joe just needs to avoid meeting with the Clintons over the holidays..............he might commit suicide or something else suspicious

Biden will be fine, Jill will give him some occasionally to help relieve stress. Melania hasn't shown hers to Trump since the prenup was revised. He can't wait to see a hooker once he leaves D.C..

Agree market is over sold. But bought SBE, Switchback Energy on 11/19 at 19.87. Closed today at 36.70. They're working a merger with Chargepoint, who makes charging stations which are growing like crazy across the country. A way to get into the electric car future and not buy into the car companies. Google it and do your homework and decide for yourself if you think it is a ground floor buy with a high ceiling future, or something else.
