Ceramic Coating
Anyone ceramic coated their boat? Pro/Cons? I'm looking at over $5,000 to do the Maximus.
|
I have had it done on 5 boats to date. Keeps the boat's finish looking new, easier to clean, and resists hull staining.
|
What about the engine room and engines and equipment in there. I'm going to be in salt water.

Had two cars done love it. Only downside is you cannot go thru automatic car washes. Makes for a long winter in the Midwest

I had a black car done, well worth the money. Make sure its done in a very clean environment, with good lighting. There was a little bit of wax on my car that was not removed during the prep, the coat went over it, and sealed it in.

fixed tho. |
So...I applied the off the shelf “Mothers” coating. Seems to hold up as well as wax for now. Am I wasting my time?

I’ve heard to not to do the top deck of the boat. Any reasoning or validity to that? Didn’t make sense to me. How does the coating hold up under the water line? |

Ceramic coatings make everything crazy smooth and slick, so the deck of the boat could be a dangerous place if you know what I mean. The coating holds up great under the water line. We have gotten a solid 3 years on our Fountain with a Coating. Plus all I have done is spray a topper product on a few times a year. Meaning I have had zero reason to wax the boat for those 3 years. |
