Question Battery 5/16 stud/post size be a restriction on amp/current?

Im upgrading the Stereo in the Hustler, adding more amps etc. I got to thinking battery post size being a restriction. Like the small 5/16 stud on the Optima blue top or 6mm on the XS power, does it restrict current/amps?

Why do you run a 1/0 or larger wire when your restricted to the 5/16 stud? How much can flow thru a 5/16 stud thru a ring terminal to what ever wire size?

Also thinking on larger ah batts, Ive been running 2 of the optima Blue group 34m that has 55ah, If I went to 2 group 31m that has 75ah. is that a big difference in run time on the Stereo?

Thanks for any help
Rob

The stud should come out of a lead lug, so you have plenty of contact area for the cable end
