Default Transom Plate

How hard is it to remove inner / outer transom plate ? TRS outdrives are removed already , Rams are still attached tied up / supported. Engines are pulled not sure if transmissions are still in. How difficult to remove what’s left for a non mechanic? Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated. Any special equipment or tools needed that I should obtain before going to the site? Thanks

As Pismo10 said...easiest part. There will be 8 (1/2-20 i think) nuts to take off and then it will all come apart. The transom plate should just pop off unless its stuck to the paint/gel inside the boat from heat cycles. The outer gimbal may fight you a little bit depending on if its been worked on throughout the years and how it was sealed up...there shouldn't be any sealer but you never know who had it appart last.

Thanks to all for the info, and encouragement. It's seems like it's always easier when you go in knowing what to expect!
