It is not a thin cut race prop either, never sent it back to get it cut, cause it runs so good, and I don't have to worry about hitting small trash in the south Louisiana waters. Michael |

How anyone can think those two highly mounted eyesores look good is beyond me. But as they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Each to their own.
When are Mercury going to release a shorter version (12” or 15”) I thought I read they did a 15” limited edition for one of the ROS motors. |

Boatless, I was thinking the same thing but didn't want to be the first or only one to say it. Those motors do look out of place and way too big for that boat. Maybe it would look better with one motor but not sure of the performance with one

My criticism isn’t if the hull. I think as an I/O it’s one of the nicest looking boats around.
Those engines, despite their amazing performance are too big. It seems they made a solution with the shorter shaft but it’s not readily available. The fact they’ve made it for the race teams shows they know it’s an issue. I’d bet every single new boat would take the option of the shorter option if it were available. The boats would look better and perform better. |
How much will they sell for? Not a list price, but a selling price?

Agreed.
Im an OB guy through and through but they still have to look good. When OMC came out w/their V-8 2 stroke OB in ‘85 they looked like a cartoon on the smaller boats. Shortening the mid section changes a lot though. Especially on a recreational boat. W/those motors it would likely put bottom cylinders bellow water line at idle or coming off plane. Im sure the cowlings are well sealed but still a problem waiting to happen. As in, how would you pull a cowling to check anything on motor?
