If you are the Captain or the lucky person(s) riding next to the Captain the second row of bolsters may seem unnecessary. If you are the tossed around wind-blown passengers your opinion may differ. This applies only when running hard in less than ideal water conditions.

A one off that worked well for us. Does not matter if it adds or subtracts value at this point. It was worth it for our use.

It would be a good option for NT to think about. Just when we did it TS was leaving NT for DI. I kinda lost my communication with them about the project when he left.

We might have those rough conditions less than 1 hands worth of count compared to boating as usual to relax almost every other weekend. these are not race boats and personally don't like the idea of taking away a relaxing lounge for a stand up bolster that is only effective a few times a year. |

For me its how often are the conditions like that vs the nice calm cruise days to the islands.

No doubt it depends on where and how you boat.

Getting back to the OP, for that price range I would strongly consider a new/newer fountain. There are plenty of them around here and while fit/finish is not like a NT I think its a great package if you want to run 75-85 in a larger boat. I believe there is a 2011 NT 39 with new V8 300 mercs for sale in the 200 range. Its not a new boat but those V8 mercs are very torquey and may be up your alley if you want a 39 ft NT, just not brand new
I personally did not go with the 34 NT because I wanted more aft space to fish off of. I think the 34 with 2 rows just completely defeats the purpose of a CC. Its beyond crammed and you have no room in the back. But hey some ppl may like it. As for the 39 with 2nd row it's up to you. Some ppl like bill93 love it, but again you definitely lose a considerable amount of room. I love being able to have 5-6 people in the back just hanging out at the sandbar or even just cruising around. The standard set up with helm seat and aft facing cooler seat will comfortably sit 8 people and even underway at speeds is VERY comfortable, and for fishing its a must. the whole aft of the boat, even with extended hardtop is perfect. You do however lose the ability for people in the 2nd row to look forward (like during a poker run) and see what's going on. I often slide the cooler out and friends like to face forward even without a clear forward view over the bow as they can still see forward traffic off the sides. The front sun lounger, with newer bolsters is comfortable at speeds. I dont like to run anymore than 55-60 (even on a perfect day), for safety reasons, with people up front. If conditions are a little bit sporty then you will slide forward even with the bolsters but It's not too bad. Again all depends on what you intend for the usage of the boat . |
Where is a 38 NT for 200 anything? Maybe I missed it. Seems most I see are 300+.
34s are still in the high 200's that i have noticed. |
Try to test ride Each one and Develop your own opinion . What might be good or bad to someone may be the opposite opinion from yourself . For every disappointed customer of a particular brand there will be 10 happy customers so your going to get varied opinions no matter what
