Default Fountain 42’ 700s & #6s

Anyone with the above set up running a +/-1” spacer in their drives with a 5 blade instead of a 6 blade? Or anyone running a 5 blade on stock X dimensions? Looking for feedback and options.

Not me, but I was talking to Boos and he said they put a 1/2" spacer in and gained 2-3 mph. This was using 6 blade props. I've considered it, but starting to lose interest in messing with it. If it worked, it would be a good gain for the money.

Running a more conservative x dim with a blueprinted lower where wilson reshapes the bullet generally yields all around good results from what I have seen and heard, just don't let them thin out the leading edge of the skeg or you will always be fixing it.

What is your current x dim?

im not sure I need to get it but everyone is telling me to put a spacer in, run a 5 blade and be done with it but I’d love to hear some real world experience from someone that’s actually done it

I do not endorse FB, just another market.
