Not to beat a dead horse but here is my Myco 8" channel, 15" wheels (ordered 16)", I changed the winch out for an upgrade after I got it, no diamond plate or cross supports on the drive step, open fenders (no tear drop to fill tire centers and open for debris to fly up on the back side), very few lights (I paid for extra). This is a 28' boat. You can compare that to my Manning (bottom trailer pictured above) 10" channel, 16" nice wheels, fenders correct and blocked off on the inside, lots of lights, way more tunnel and structural support and over $4000.00 less. The Manning's are for 32' boats (way bigger as you can see). Again, we bought 3 of them at once so maybe Matt stepped out on his quote for us but they were a true fraction of the Myco. The top one pictured above has 8" channel, 15" wheels and it was $700.00 less then the bottom two which are identical.

The top one has 8" channel, 15" wheels, less lighting, rear step is different, fenders are not spaced out the same, rear cross member and step is different and few more minor tweaks. The bottom two are identical. Like I said, I am picky-

Every comedian in the country is outta work and JS trying is trying to be funny......lol

I replaced a Myco with the Manning.

Admittedly the Myco was an '05, and had been back and forth across the country several times, but I had multiple cracks that were on the way to a catastrophic failure. I contacted Myco NOT looking for warranty work, but as an FYI so they'd be aware of a potential problem, and I was taken aback at what I perceived as a complete lack of concern. I sent pics to the boat manufacturer and had them contact Myco to let them know some of their earlier trailers may have an issue. Same result.

I needed my trailer fixed & I'm not going to drop names, but I called another W MI boat trailer manufacturer and they absolutely were not interested in welding someone else' trailer. I called Manning and was told to "drag it down and we'll take a look at it". They welded the cracks and I was amazed at how little they charged. I asked Ron: "Myco is supposed to be a good trailer, should it have done that?". He had the perfect chance to throw a competitor under the bus, and instead said "Myco makes a good trailer, I'd have done things a little differently, but it's old and aluminum and aluminum will flex".

When I decided to buy a new trailer, I thought I knew exactly what I wanted and went to see Ron. (Since Myco and the other guys were off the list) He said "Yup, we can build it that way, but that's not how I'd do it" and he had a reason for every single change.

I got back from the maiden trip and had a seal leaking. I called Matt & asked him about it and he said "I'll be right there " and the next thing I knew he was in my shop replacing the seal.

Up until now I've been very happy with Manning. They don't have a shop full of computers, lasers, and cnc machines; they use tape measures, levels, and a legal pad combined with about a gazillion years worth of knowledge and experience and they produce a solid product.

They don't have a perky receptionist in a short skirt answering the phones (not that there's anything wrong with that lol) ...whoever answers the phones stops working on a trailer to answer the phone.

They're a small biz in an industry that has literally blown up in terms of demand greatly exceeding supply & I think they're so busy they can't tell which way is up....they're definitely overwhelmed.

I'm certainly not agreeing with their lack of communication, but I'm not completely unsympathetic, either; we're in a different industry but we're overwhelmed & doing our best to deal with product and parts shortages.. It's a difficult time ...I have a great crew and have no one taking advantage of the extra stimulus $$$ and abusing the system to stay home because "they're afraid to come to work" but we've got more demand than we can handle and it's damned near impossible to hire someone right now.

I'm sitting here re-reading my post and thinking "dang, it really wasn't my intent to come off like a fanboy and defend them, because my favorite boater is me, and I'm upset I'm still waiting on a response"...

I'm applying the same reasoning I'd use if our local watering hole dropped the ball on our next visit; we're disappointed with the out of character performance, but unless the issue becomes the new normal we're probably not changing where we're getting our next burger and beer.

It's unfortunate; Manning has earned a very solid reputation and is in the process of alienating a loyal customer base because they're failing biz 101. "A customer is not an interruption"

my manning has been a good trailer and doesnt have any cracks in the aluminum however, i had the first ever manning aluminum trailer built and i'll be diplomatic and say it was a complete abortion. only intervention by Saber got the problem fixed by building a total new one.
