OK boys and girls...the weatherman did not cooperate last weekend, so lets get it together and do the real thing this Saturday. The weather forecast looks awesome. Meet at the Newport breakwater at 10:45 sharp!!! Lightside members only...
no dark side specialists!!!! If you cannot go by boat, then drive the car up PCH!!! Hope this Tuna stinky person shows up...whoever they are????????

Ok, forgive me if this is too stupid/rookie, but my wife just asked me so I thought theres no harm in asking the board.

Is there a way to tell if the ocean will be calm enough for a 26’ Daytona to make the run from Newport Beach to the Yardhouse on Saturday with the big dogs?

Our boat has been at Eliminator getting annual service and we should have it back before this weekend. Was going to take it back to the lake, but thought I would try this out on you guys first.

What do you think?

I'll hang back with ya and cruise it on up to LB with ya ......
Its impossible to think you can hang with those poddles in the
big lake. So. We'll just cruise at a comfortable pace ... The weather will be nice,,,, no need to hurry .... we'll meet 'em there..... Howz that .....??? or we can leave a few mintues early and they can buzz past us..........

Sat. for me will consist of hanging with those old enough to
be my Grandfather and boy did he have a " D" ispicable Wardrobe " ...

Uncle Toys you got to go and do it. I can not imagine that your Cat would be any worse then the 30 ft Scab that I have done the run in a couple of times. Ya it can be rough but if you take your time it will be fine. Seems some one always holds back to stick together as a group. My advice, get a head start on the pack. :D Oh ya don't count on Ricko the Sicko to "hold back" he aint right upstairs :D:D Oh waite, maybe when he got tossed out the last time they gave him a labadamy when he was in the hospital :D:D

OK, just got my insurance policy endorsement via the fax. Eliminator said I can pick up my boat Friday afternoon. Now I’ll call and see if I can pick up a couple of Lifeline jackets. If the weather holds, we are good to go this Saturday. :eek: :eek:

If you are going to launch at the Dunes in Newport, take the 405, exit at Jamboree and head towards the coast. About 1 block before you get to the PCH, turn right onto Back Bay Dr, there's a light there. That will bring you to the entrance of the Dunes, and you can follow the signs to the launch ramp.

From the Dunes, it's about a 45 minute idle to the breakwater.

After you put your boat back on the trailer at the Dunes, there is a wash rack where you can flush your motors and wash your boat. You'll need to bring a hose, muffs for your outdrives, and some quarters since the water at the Dunes runs off of quaters. If you are at a marine store today, buy some "Salt-Away" to use when you flush your motors.

If I can round up some people to go with me tomorrow, I'll be taking my boat out and launching at the Dunes so I can meet up with you there if you want to . My boat is 29', so I'll probably be hanging back from the rest of the group.....If I can't round up some other people to go with me, I may just drive to LB or try to mooch a ride with somebody....

PS: I think you'd look good in Douggie's boat....:D
