Default Dyno- 600hp 454's

Hey, Kaama's got dyno sheets from his 600hp 468 engines. We need to talk with him about those engines.

KAAMA said he had the Merlin oval-port heads (2.30 intakes, 1.88 exhaust) solid roller cams and Torqer intakes. We could sit here with Desktop Dyno 2000 and run some scenarios.

No---not Torker intakes. Those 468's had the Dart intakes on them that are now on my 540's. But Crazy is right about the heads-----Merlin oval ports bowl ported with short side radius work. They had Dominators 1050 carbs----heck I don't even use those on my 540's, 9.5 comp ratio, Crower solid roller cams 244*/254* on 110* lobes, Stellings full length tube headers, and the cylinders were "bore notched". Apparently, the Dominators made 35 more horsepower over the 850cfm carbs---but I wasn't there to see the comparison. But I do have the dyno sheets for both engines. With the Dominators both engines made 600hp @5500rpm w/37* of total timing....not too bad for a pair of naturally aspirated 468's!

I still don't know what "bore notched" means.
Can anyone explain?
I thought it pertained to a "Stroker" motor.

Bore notching is when you cut the eng block above the top ring of the piston to the area where the valve is to let more air flow into the cylinder.
