Powerboat Related Office / Mancave Things...

What sort of boating related things to you have around your office / mancave? I've seen some cool neon signs and flags. The custom neon signs of "your boat" are pretty sweet. What else are you guys and gals showing off?

just got this new 12 X 36 storage unit...had to put up SOMETHING, lol! I am sure as time goes on it'll get more decorations. I have a bunch of posters given to me by a dealer many years ago during Baja's heydey, that portray all the halo boats of the time.

Does anyone know, or can anyone make big vinyl banners? Like 24" x 48" or 36" x 60" ? Logo or slightly Customized?

Look for any small business that has a title like Signs and Banners to Go, or other names that use the word Banner in it. There are a couple or more here at LOTO. A lager metro are probably has a SaBTo Go franchise.

When I had the race track I used to get a lot of stuff done by Big Signs.com, prices were excellent and delivery was very fast

The joys of living alone I have had two Maximus props in my living room for a year and one of the spare bedrooms has a new set of gauges for one of the boats, several amps for another and a Procharger kit for yet another.

Yeah, don’t think I’ll ever get married haha.

Whenever I visit Michael Aronow in his office, I always walk out with such memories stoked in my mind.

Here is a small example of what he has in his office ........and he also has two garages filled with Don's memories.

The most important item here in my opinion, is Don's desk.

Same desk he made his deals across, same desk he welcomed his friends into the office, Same desk that the very best designs in the offshore world were shown and approved.

Many Thanks to 28V for helping an old guy navigate the modern world. LOL

Okay then, now I remember why I don't come on here very often anymore.......what is the big secret to posting photos? The old days when you went Advanced, you could post photos....not anymore????

We enjoy your posts Charlie if using a PC save to hard drive first...then browse and upload..
  1. While writing/editing your post, click the little "picture" icon in the tool bar (next to the smiley!)
    https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fod...87165ed753.png
  2. Select "From Device" (to choose a photo from your desktop, laptop, or smartphone/tablet photo library); or from "My Albums" if you've already put the photo onto Fodor's elsewhere; or "Take Photo" if you're on a smartphone or tablet and you want to use its camera to take the photo right now.
  3. Find your photo and click OPEN.
  4. Wait for your image to appear in the preview window, then click UPLOAD.
  5. The photo will appear in the edit window of your post; place it where you want in relation to the text (you can click and drag it!) and click POST REPLY. Voila!
  6. It is NOT recommended to use "manage attachments" to post a photo as an attachment; the above method is preferred.

Cool to see some of this stuff still out there. I have a new garage going up in about a month. Materials on order and then has to be scheduled by the crew. Wish I had some of this stuff to hang, like banners, some posters etc. Never had anywhere to store it all before though. Besides, my family is already on me for having too much shiiite lying around. Going to try to keep this one organized and clean looking. But, still would like to come across some stuff like 28V posted on his wall.

Top Banana 11-18-2020 07:57 AM

To 28 V......Thank you and believe it or not, I got it to work!! Enjoy the photos of Michael Aronow's office.

There seems to be some interest in having some cool stuff for..... home offices / man caves / shops / boat houses.

HORBA has been trying to get some traction with a boat company, that would like to partner with us to make a HORBA Museum, as part of their physical location.

So far nothing has worked out to our satisfaction, so I am considering moving some of my collection and HORBAs, so that it won't get lost, if I pass over my last finish line in the near future.

We have the original George Bartell paintings that John Crouse used in his book SEARACE.

George Bartell was a famous artist that did most of the Cobra paintings and drawings for Carroll Shelby. I want to offer the paintings to the families first, Billy Martin, Rocky Aoki, Tom Gentry, etc etc. After that to the public.

We are considering a run of posters from those paintings before they are sold...any interest in some posters, probably 24 X 36 sizes.

Also have original negatives and photos, from the real old school racing that could be made up into new photos of various sizes.

Looking for feedback and actual interest at this point.

Here are some quick shots of an office that I keep at my beach house, one side is for boat racing and the other side is for auto racing.

Wow, this really turned into a great thread. I LOVE the scale models of the powerboats. As a kid, building a model was exciting. And they show really well in an office / mancave.

I am extremely interested in reprints of your photos, I'm getting ready to build a new office for myself and would love to have those on my walls. This is some seriously amazing stuff.
