im a big outboard fan. All my boats from now on will be outboards (hopefully lol). But thats why I said "that style of boat", I would prefer diesels on that boat, but not on any boats I would own.

You would think that, but they are yanking the diesels out of those 48' Fountain cruisers and putting outboards on them. I know a couple people who have done it and they love it. At the least, Formula is targeting a market that is there.

Formula have always made quality boats and have a lot of happy owners. I’m sure this boat will be no exception.

I remember when BMW introduced the new look X6 to the range and it was criticized as being ugly. One motoring writer in Australia said.“Why would anyone buy that...........? Because it’s a BMW”.
I’m thinking the same here, “Because it’s a Formula”.

Big pimpin! With 5 outboards you will always get home. I bet with that power she will be a runner also. I wish Formula much success.

Those are cool builds but........................at 1/5 the cost of the new Formula. Fastboats had one listed for 400K.

So buy a tired 48, find a set of low hour take off OB's and build it the way the factory didn't. I think the 48 EC looks way way way better than the Formula and is probably faster on the same power.

Wonder why Fountain hasn't built any 48 EC OB's yet?

and those OB's look so much better tight against the transom vs. 4 feet back. This is the exact model I'd buy in the open bow version, triple 350's runs 58 MPH, I'd guess triple 400's would get you 62 (based on the 4 mph top end jump from going 300 to 350's). 3 motors, great looking boat and runs over 60 mph!

That's the million dollar question. I would have thought they were. I believe there is a company that all they do is these conversions.

A loaded up 430 SSC is just under $2M (MSRP). I'm sure this 500 will be $2.5M loaded, at least.
