I boat in sandy/rocky areas with a lot of large waves and my Danforth holds and can't be moved. I use a good length of chain and follow the 7:1 rule, of course I bought the next size up anchor because of the waters I boat in. I've used my Danforth in 3-4' waves no problem. Maybe the lakes I boat in are ideal for Danforths.
