Need Help - USCG Documentation / Delaware Registration

So we bought a center console back in the Fall. Boat is registered with Delaware (DNREC). I'm in process of getting USCG documented.

All I have is the registration 'letter' from the DNREC (it includes all pertinent information and is legit) - Delaware DNREC has confirmed that it is proper. But USCG won't accept as a means of establishing ownership. USCG responded with....

The Delaware Boat Registration letter submitted is not acceptable to start chain of ownership . Please submit an original or legible copy of the actual Delaware Registration.

Anyone have any suggestions? I have no idea what a 'real' Delaware Boat Registration document/card even looks like or if it exists.

Thanks
Terry

The doc I have does have HIN and registration numbers. DNREC sent it to me by email. I'm just not sure what USCG really needs. I've got an another email in to DNREC but I'll call tomorrow. If that doesn't work, I'll call Barbara. Thank you for the resource!

Make sure you're dealing with the correct agency, some out there will pretend they are the USCG but their not and over charge you. They probably want you to surrender the original ( not a copy ) state registration in order to issue a USCG Doc.........my boat is documented but I still have to carry a state registration, no numbers but do have to carry the year of expiration on the boat, good luck

There is another place which is just there to take your money. I did mine with just a KY title and a bot 15 years old. Was easy and cost me about $75

Mortgage company is dealing with USCG directly. I'm going to try and call the USCG tomorrow to see what they really need/are missing. Everything else is in order - they've even assigned a number already.

I'm attaching the current registration which was emailed to me DIRECTLY from Delaware DNREC. This is also what we sent to USCG back in October - they sent a letter stating "not acceptable to start chain of ownership".

So is anyone here from Delaware? Is this what you have for the actual registration document (that USCG needs) or is there another format that I just don't have?

Thanks!
Terry

Did you do a Coast Guard bill of sale from the seller to you?

Yes, USCG Bill Of Sale competed.
I believe the registration component is the only thing in question (at least right now).

I did discover that Delware has a registration 'card'. The nice gal in Delaware is sending me one - hopefully that satisfies what USCG is looking for. First time I've ever had an issue with documentation.
