35 Cigarette
Anyone know anything about the 35 listed on All Florida Yacht Sales? I think the price is pretty high. I am going to look at it and any info would be a plus. Thanks.

Over 37k spent on full mechanical overhaul done in mid 2015 and only used 45 hours Over 12k spent on Brand new upholstery done recently by Anything Marine Services in Riviera beach https://www.allfloridayachtsales.com...orida-7644095/ I'm 99% sure I knew the original owner, guy was in the trash business with his dad. I'll shoot my buddy a text and see if he remembers if this was his boat. |
That’s the 35 that was at Phantom for a few weeks.
|
This boat was discussed a while back in the cig group post it there and you’ll find out all you need to know.
|
Ya can't pay to much...Ya can only pay it to soon

Seems like a great buy compared to this! IN STOCK! 2004 Cigarette 38 Top Gun ? Grand Sport Center

That boat looks bigger then 35. How fast with the twin 500's? 75?
|
I did a quick walk around while it was at Will Smith’s shop, I thought it looked really good.
I thought he was working on one engine and maybe a drive. Call Will at Phantom, he knows the boat somewhat. I may be wrong but I think there’s probably 20k of wiggle room baked into the asking price. |

I agree, I would have been all over it when it showed up at Phantom, but I am 90% into a 34 build.
I just want a mid size Cig or Apache to go with the Phantom and then call it a day on the boat stuff. My thoughts on the price are only based on shop chatter and speculation, not hard info. |
if you got it even at 99, in year it will be worth 150 in my opinion. the market for quality preowned is getting thinner.

I understand the appreciation of Cigarettes and Apaches but does this trickle down to less iconic stuff like Scarabs, Sutphens, etc?
|
I would say yes. Maybe not at the same level, but most likely yes.

Their a guy on here that has a 39 Sutphen Zule power and #6 drives and priced around 70k and cant get a buyer, so I dont think its across the board of high performance brands
|
uniquely branded as “Tiger 35” as the previous owner’s wife did not want him to buy a “Playboy” boat. |

The Spirit of Apache is probably the top condition Apache out there and they dumped huge money into it and I think the first actual sale price was 300-400K (after a 1.2mm build and asking huge money to start). So while the sale price might be a benchmark for Apaches, it was still a 60%+/- loss. The 41 Apache Ultimate Warrior had similar numbers 600K build, asking 199K. This Cig just had 50K dumped in it, surely a 99K sale isn't making the guy any money but it should be a nice boat to own/run for the next few years. There was a 28 Magnum called Powder Keg for sale 10-15 years ago. Small block twins, I think it even had alpha drives on it (it was a goofy powertrain) but it was restored to an over the top level and it was 30-35K. Just a cool old boat that was timeless, small enough to use in any lake, easy to tow, small enough to tuck into a barn. No idea what happened to it, but it would have been a cool boat to own for very little money. |
The boat doesn't have a trailer. It is gonna cost me almost $12,000 to have one built.
|
Buy it anyway, get whatever you can for a trailer. That’s a great deal on that boat. Had I not found mine last year I’d be going to see it

Appears to be a clean boat from pics. I'd be more concerned about history on engines... salt etc. Offer 88k and order a trailer if that is your budget. |
plan on spending some coin on those engines @ 500 hrs they need some attention.........boat looks pretty clean

Well it says 500 hrs on engines not both rebuilt with 45 hrs, maybe Im missing it
|
Ad description is confusing regarding engines.
|
I think the broker is used to dealing with big boats and lists total hours, not hours since last major overhaul.
|
Either way, still a good buy.
|
The salesman told me the money was spent on one engine. I am going to talk to Will tomorrow and look at the boat. I don't have much faith in sales people!
|
How about a 35 Mistress for $45,000 in good original condition?

I looked at the boat. Maybe I'm too particular but I saw a lot of things that I would need to redo. Also I talked to Will. he has never done anything to one of the engines since the currant owner bought it. I have no idea if anything was ever done to that engine. The other engine had water leak into a cylinder and score the cylinder wall and had to replace that one piston with an oversized one. One cylinder with a larger piston I'm not sure about that..
|
I’ve been following this thread since posted. At best this boat is worth $60k. Cigarette is not worth this kind of money with all these issues ....it’s just another boat that needs a sh$t ton of money to make it right.
