My setup tows so smooth I’ve caught myself going over 80 on the expressway a couple times on accident. You want tongue weight but not too much. F-150 shouldn’t be in the conversation for a load your size.
YES

YES Bags will be a huge help with tongue weight and will also help with body roll. I tow with a single wheel F350 and its my daily driver. I dont want to deal with a dually for a daily driver. Get the 250 and be safe. You'll be glad you did.

I tow my 32 Renegade with my 2500 HD diesel and would never think of using a 1/2 ton. Whatever you get, I would consider a diesel for the exhaust brake and the fuel economy, you will get most of the extra cost back when you sell it. I also got a Myco trailer and love it, it makes my trip from MA to FL each year much easier.

I just looked up Fords rating for the 2020 SRW 250/350. Strange enough conventional towing with a 4 door short bed they have the same rating. (SAE J2807 method). You really have to look carefully at these ratings, the tremor off road package reduces the rating by 5.000 Lbs. For the high rating it does require the optional GVWR package and the best one:

All are based on a SINGLE 150Lb driver. LOL,,,

New Ford F250 diesels are totally amazing. I have a 2020 F250 crew cab 6' bed 4x4 diesel that I pull my 28 Skater with. The camera and backup packages add a great deal of confidence on the road. Another plus is the trailer tire pressure monitoring option. The engine break and hill decent works great! Add an AirSafe hitch and I really don't even know my boat is back there.

Not everyone knows this, but towing a big center console is like towing a sailboat. They have TREMENDOUS drag, and side winds and passing large vehicles can send you across lanes very quickly with no warning.
