ditto.

So you see it done with large powerboats? We are in the calmest part of the lake so we don’t get white caps. I could even buy more pier and build it so the goat pulls in and I could tie it off on both sides.

In all honesty, find someone who can get you a lift. A 38 Cig isn't that big of a boat, and a 42 fountain is even smaller, So there is no reason not to put it on a lift. You'll get used to looking at it quickly......

Yeah I hear ya. I’ll have to talk to my FLOE LIFT dealer. Even if they don’t have a canopy long enough, maybe a shorter 120000 lb lift will be enough to get it up out of the water. I could always have a cover made. I’ve done it before with other boats

Depends on the lake. Our pleasure boat sits in Lake George all summer at the dock. New anodes every year. Pull and bottom wash twice a summer. LG is one of the cleanest lakes in the country though. Makes a big difference.

Thats what I thought. We used to leave a 40 Scarab at the dock on the Pend Oreille river for 5-6 weeks each summer. Did that for five years. The boat had high quality base/clear automotive paint and never blistered. It would take about 10 days to get a faint scum line but the kids would swim around the boat and wipe it off with a sponge. Clean water.

The only time I leave my boat in the water overnight is when Im sleeping on it while running the AC....and its floating in the lift behind the house hahahah. Im in brackish water so there is that. If it was on a lake I wouldnt mind so much if it was checked on periodically like at a marina.

I hate a scummy bottom......If I Ieft a performance boat in all summer I would probably pull it 4-5 times to clean the bottom personally.

We kept our boat in a well for a couple summers. The Lake Michigan waters being cold kept the algae growth to a minimum but the bottom would stain. My wife got very proficient at wearing here snorkel and scrubbing the hull bottom. : )

I very much appreciate all of the advice, experiences, and comments. Please keep them coming. I was expecting the answers to be more one sided than I am reading here. I certainly don’t want the gel coat to blister or bubble but I assume cigarette is a premium finish that would be pretty resistant.
