Fried chicken, cold cut subs, salsa and chips, we have learned to be very careful with food and drinks.

So true. All melon operations are quarantined to the swim platform. A couple of well aimed water splashes and all the sticky is all gone.

In my cruiser days, the girls would arrange the snacks.
Usually green foliage, a bucket of crabs and Som Tum (papaya salad) with squid, octopus and crab (all raw) served in ‘Pla Laa’, which is a sauce made from fish guts and left to ferment for 6 months. Stinks to high Heaven, you don’t want this stuff indoors!
(Always kept mouthwash in the cabin)

I didn’t eat their food, I prefer crisps and strong drinks. 🙂

When I was in college I got my first fixer upper boat finished, in Las Vegas we used to live on mead in the summer. Maiden voyage one of the included snacks was a couple gallons of Carlo Rasi Sangria. It was a great trip but my new upholstery had purple spots everywhere.
I'm a little older now we mostly stay offshore, I like to grab a couple types of smoked tuna & Ritz. Tastes great w the salty air and it's a nice change up while we're working on landing sushi.
