I have spent countless hours driving a Y2K, great boat to tear around in, m not great to go pleasure boating with the wife or fam. The Y2K is a very narrow boat, subsequently it is super sensitive to side by side trim, the wind direction affects the lean second to second, since they are all single sterndrives, well I have never seen a twin Y2K, varying the throttle setting continually changes the lean and the degree of lean, If you own a Y2K you will become an expert in side by side trim and will find that you will need to keep your fingers on the tab buttons more than you would like

I was thinking I’d go for a single 400 or 450R, but after talking with John the 400R on a 30’ would give @ 65-70 knots. The 450R costs the same at 2 300R’s. Guess that would help with the trim as well as the performance.

The 30 I owned was a 2006 with a 525efi. It leaned a little to port, nothing unmanageable. A LH prop helped with that. As far as the family went, my kids LOVED it, and my wife tolerated it. Despite the 7' beam, the cockpit had decent space, and the cabin was huge. I have a 30' CC now and my wife has said many times that it doesn't ride as good as the Superboat did. My kids were toddlers when I had my 24.

Look at Progression, 27 or 29. Better ride, very strong boat
