Default Took all of 4 days to sell my boat...

Sold my pristine '92 Baja 208 Islander I'd had since new in 4 days. Had a former Baja dealer/marina sell it on consignment for me as they are at a lake and could do water tests for prospective buyers. Owner and staff at the marina said they were "inundated" with calls about the boat. Definitely a seller's market at the moment.

It was a sweet boat. And I bet there was less hesitation about the Yamaha out drive then there would have been in a a buyer’s market.

Congrats on the sale! Mine sold in one hour on FB. With a limited supply of well kept boats it's definitely a sellers market. What's next for you Bajaman?

Oh, I'd bought a 2000 252 Islander last year so that is my baby now!

You know, interestingly enough...it wasn't brought up that often in sales talks. The great thing about the Hydra Drive is...it is literally bullet-proof. And I was pleased to see the new buyer is a skilled mechanic (works on CNC milling machines by trade), and I had the factory service manuals on the engine and outdrive (now those ARE impossible to find), along with a bunch of spare parts I'd picked up over the years (water pump, fuel pump, lots of gaskets and O rings, etc. So I am sure that if anything would come up, which on a 29 year old boat can certainly be expected., it'll be well taken care of.

My second boat was a 208 islander. Loved it. Great boat................on a smooth lake. On a rough lake the lack of deadrise was an issue. My wife never bought into the theory that if you get on top of the waves you can run faster and smoother.

If you don't mind me asking, what were you asking for it?

$12K, and got it.
Based on the number of responses and what the dealer indicated, I could have probably got more but to me it was a fair price, everyone is happy.
