Looking for owners manual 88Marlin outboard
#11
Ok..... Marlin boats were manufactured in Beaverton OR, prior to 1989. They were then bought out by Cal Custom and sold off in pieces. So getting anything concrete from the original sources will be basically impossible. But maybe I can help with my foggy memory from back in the day?
If you are in Vegas, I am guessing the boat was originally purchased at Holiday RV and Marine in Bullhead City. They were the largest dealer in the area at the time and carried the Marlin line exclusively in that brand along with Advantage. I do not remember anyone else in the desert area that carried Marlin? The other closest dealers I can remember were in upper California and Oregon. The dealers did ALL the work to the boats directly and then billed Marlin back for payment, which in the later years was not paid. Holiday is no longer in business, but when I went through BHC a few weeks ago, I noticed the building is still there and is still a repair shop? Maybe stop by, you never know what or who may have an insight. They sold a ton of Marlins back in the day, Like I said, you never know...
The boats were a basic runabout with a few different variations of size. Some open bows, others closed, but nothing really out of the ordinary. All except the Ceaero, which was their only Performance based boat and was only made in '88.
What model do you have, is there a picture? I may(???) be able to help a little if I knew which boat it was, but really.... There is VERY little if any info to be found on the actual manufacturing specs of the boat. And like has been stated, when we received the information packet when purchasing the boat, it included the manufacturer warranties from Mercury, Kraco/Clarion (Radio) And any other add on's for the boat. The only thing I can picture was a sheet that stated there was a hull warranty, but again.... That was handled by the dealer.
