Say they hit something and took on water Or a second assumption that debris from a recent heavy rainfall was floating and struck, but it appears that the tunnel in this picture is the primary spot for the collision with the unknown object... what did that tunnel hit? At speed, on plane, what would the tunnel strike without a driver being able to see the object above the waterline, since the tunnel is out of the water? If the boat was at an aggressive idle off plane then I understand the tunnel could strike a submerged object just below the surface. That is terrible to see that boat submerged at the dock. |
LOTO NEVER has an issue with water depth, unless... your are at the back of a deep cove in the middle of winter. They take good care of us here, it is the cash cow for the state and they know it.
We are currently close to full pool, so again, water depth is not an issue. Floating debris can be an issue, but it is generally earlier in the season, I am not saying it cant happen now and throughout the year, obviously he hit something, just stating it is rare. I am pointing this out only to put those that come and visit to be put at ease for visiting. Now.... There are hidden treasures off the beaten path, and it still pays to have a map of the lake you are visiting so you know what to look for or what a marker is marking and why.... |

I think you are going to see more and more of this sh!t at the lake as folks who historically didn’t hang out down there are definitely making more of an appearance. Saw the beginnings of it last year with the incident at Dog Days among others.

The hood rats are thick this year at loto. I don’t get it.

IMO the lake has changed forever over the last year, with the ignorance of certain cities in our state and outside of it, de-funding the police and other states with dictator Governors people will go where they can be free and from under the control of the elites that want to tell others how to live. . There is a significant shift out of certain cities and/or states underway nationally and I see no reason why the freedom at LOTO won't attract people here. The key will be how the surrounding jurisdictions of LOTO deal with the increase in visitors.

My first impression was that they ran over a buoy but that's pure speculation and I have no idea what actually happened.

The picture in post #15 is the same boat that sank?
The cause went from no plugs to damage from hitting something in a few threads...confirmed? I go to Table Rock instead of LOTO and I can tell you there is large amount of debris in the water from the local heavy rains. I saw a couple of large trees floating just under the surface this weekend that would have ruined someone's day, for sure. |
What I Heard...
I've heard/read a couple of things.
1. Jumped a wake and tore up the transom when it landed? 2. Hit something in the lake and took off an outdrive? 40' Nor-Tech |
