after using both products they have impressed me in different ways.

So far you're simply impressed with application. Just wait to see how long a $20 "ceramic wax" lasts which is not nearly as long as true ceramic coating. The next challenge will be seeing how long it takes the ceramic quartz begins to (potentially) delaminate from the gel coat and the wet sanding needed to remove it all for reapplication. Hopefully that mess will be a long time coming.......for the both of us.

I self ceramic'd my garaged weekend car a few years ago and see zero signs of failure thus far. Did the keel portion and transom of the boat around the same time and it's still holding up as well; however, it too is covered all day but not garaged. True test is on my tow vehicle that sits in the FL sun all day and was recently repainted then self ceramic'd. I also applied a (supposed) lifetime light lens protectant that will stop UV damage.

@Offshoredilling how much does your shop charge to ceramic coat a 28 foot boat?

lots of factors play into it, paint or gel? how much it takes to correct each one, the condition etc.. 2 of the exact same boats could be vastly diff based on the condition of the surface, good paint with a correction and polish would be about 7800.00, paint or gel in worse shape add about 3k more.

so the griots 3 in 1 wax and car pro quartz performed amazing. it totally eliminates the dreaded brown bottom. I recommend to anyone. Here are some pictures.

This is normally what it looks like after a few uses…night and day difference.
