Ya'll think they will use the plastic props in the world record?

I think that the current record is held by a 36V Minn-Kota.

Seriously, it will be great to see the progress and what the current limitations are.

Did the electric Cig ever even splash and run?

Seems to me if speed was the only object you would go with something smaller but either way its kind of cool.

Nothing wrong with electric motors, the issue is storage. A lot of the newer cars seem pretty good but pushing a boat through or over water is still a lot of drag.

Its a speed run, so your not worried about extended range. A little software reprogramming should be able to make a significant increase in power.

Agree, really since its just speed if it was a I/O just pick the amount of power you need.

I can tell you that, in the model boat world, the electrics have surpassed us fuel guys, and are never looking back. Don't know if it's simply a matter of scale for the full size boating industry to catch up, but I wouldn't count it out.

Thanks. Brad.

I do remember back in the desert racing 2 stroke days....the kids who thought they were fast wanted motors that came on the pipe hard. I wanted a motor that that "ran like an electric motor" no hit, no coming on the pipe, no powerband...just smooth ever increasing linear power as you twisted the throttle. It felt slower but was indeed faster and less tiring to ride.
