Must be newer people. The fountain length shortcomings and fountain skank comments ran rampant around here, even by fountain owners. It was funny stuff by all.
Either way, watching someone get triggered is funny too. Lol.

We built what you are thinking of doing we used an 24 or 25 active thunder hull that was like new used a hi performance xr transome a bravo XR 380 tabs and close to 800 hp natural aspirated we use a 26p bravo prop and run it deep the hull has no steps its the most fun turn key does not break can carry 8 people and get on plane it really winds out up to 6800 on a very cool day. when we built the engine we killed the low end torque and put it on top like a truck puller....its just the most fun bang for your buck i have ever been involved with it runs into the 90s we call it thunder therapy and it sure is after a long week.... enjoy your build! and yes we could go faster but you start to lose driveability as you raise the drive and get into custom props it ended up being driver ed to teach my son how to drive fast in all conditions as we are restoring an 388 with big power but not so forgiving to learn on......just to show how old school i am we have never left the dock with out every one wearing a life vest! you can build a simple reliable fun predictable boat just think it out....you are welcome to come for a ride if you are in the lake ontario area
OP a 27 Activator would be a rocket, they are pretty “small” 27’s with their narrow beam 7’6” I believe. If you were able to find a twin step model you’d be flying. They’ve been mid 80’s with a 525 in those.

1- It's "cruise"
2 - Apologies man, I didn't mean to piss in your Cheerios, all the real FOUNTAIN owners I know aren't seriously sensitive about the beak. I won't tell the story, but it's out there, of an owner who was so insensitive when class rules were changed he applied a sawzall to a nearly new fountain to get his OAL within limits. FWIW I'm a fan, I love what RF did for both the industry and the sport, and the beak and platform were genius from both a marketing standpoint AND for insurance purposes RE HP per length calculations.
3 - I can afford one, left hand sticks don't work for me. And 200 ? No. Not 200.
4 - Seriously, I don't want to turn this into a pissing contest and it wasn't my intent to hurt anyone's feelings. If I ever bring one of the boats to NY the first round is on me by way of apology.

I just have to correct Slippery's sig line. He states that: There are 2 types of people in this world:
1. Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data.
Truth be told, there are three types of people in this world. Those that can count and those that cannot.
