The more seat time you get in the boat the better you'll be able to drive it,

Have any of you guy's actually blown a drive while coming out of the hole? I always thought drive failure had more to do with poor throttling when the prop left the water.

I never understood that.

Thats like being married to a supermodel and never banging her... Just let her sit in the corner and look hot? ....I dont think so. :)

One of my TRS's let go when getting on plane. And believe me, i was nursing it.

Check to see if the upper has XR gears. If not upgrade the gears. Your saving grace is a lighter boat with a small prop. The killer is you have a lot of torque with a 540 CI

x 2. Exactly.

Btw, I would say it’s safe to say approx 50% of performance boaters that get out if boating is due to Bravo’s breaking more than once.

H20 Toie 08-11-2021 12:53 PM

Well with a bravo 1 i would say that you need to plan on it blowing at some point no matter how easy you are on it,
Two choices. wait until it grenades and then upgrade or sell the drive you have now while it is still good and get some good money on it. go buy an imco scx and not worry about it.

When i went to the scx from a bravo my boat got on plane a lot easier,. plus i never worried about breaking it.

i see you have an imco lower but with my bravos i always blew the upper so that is probably the weak link

what’s does beating the snot out of a boat to get it on plane have to do with pushing the boat to its limits when it’s on plane. None of these boats are categorically fast at getting on plane…if I wanted hole shots I would have bought a drag boat or jet ski.

pushing a performance boat in big water is the adrenaline rush. Not waiting minutes for the thing to plane.

just my 0.02.
