Hi wondering what you car people think about one of these and have you ever seen one. A freind of mine is thinking about buying the one pictured and making a leving out of draging it to car shows, rod runs and other motor sports activites. Would you pay $75 to run your favorite car on it? Please post feedback bolth positve and negive if you have some or thoughts. Thanks Charlie

if it can dyno rice rockets he can make some decent $$ off high school kids that are into tricking out thier cars with wings and aero kits and huge mufflers.

"hey kid $75, the huge wing added no HP to your stock engine, thanks"

he he. but seriousl there is a market for that kind of stuff i don't know if he can make a living at it though. I'd pay $75 just for ****s and giggles. I think ata drag track he could make some decent coin over a weekend of racing. He coudl prolly charge more than $75 too.

Thumbs up

There is one that rolled around Columbus, OH this past summer. It was $60 to get your car dynoed.
It was free at some locations.
I.E. Jeg's High Performance is based out of Columbus, they paid to have it at their main store and promoted that on the radio. That store was packed that particular Saturday.
AutoZone did the same thing at one of their locations later that summer.
The interest is there.

Some other guys have one for motorcycles. They drag it to MId-Ohio for the AMA Superbike weekend. It's $35 to get your bike dynoed and to enter into an HP contest. It's $25 just for the dyno run and no contest.
I have seen them all over the place with that one. A local rap group filmed a rap video downtown. Those guys had the dyno there. Believe it or not, there was a solid line of bikes waiting to be flogged on.

Seen them at the Harley runs usually $25-$35 and a line an hour long to get on. Pisser when you see some guys custom hit 7000rpm and spit the rod out the bottom
Your friend my want to examine his liability insurance.
Cool Idea

I'd pony up the bucks if it came to a car show in my town. I'd love to know how much H.P. and torque my supercharged truck makes.

How much is it? Who makes it?

I have considered opening a shop with a car chassis dyno, motorcycle chassis dyno, and an engine dyno that could be set up for stand alone car/marine/bike engines or driven off a propshaft. I would set up the equipment and rent out the time. People would do their own wrenching.

I'd give it a try for even $100 , what the hell. My kids got a '69 pick-up and @10.87/127mph for its weight we figured about 500rwhp. It would be fun just to see how close we were
