I'm thinking about renting this year with my wife. Do you know of any good places to stay and rent sleds? I want SPORT sleds at least 600s preferably 700s. NOT double tanks!
I used to ride Bennington S. Vermont, Old Forge, Tug Hill, and St. Agathe Canada regularly.
I'm looking to book about a week somewhere in February. Wanna try and get some other friends to go too.

I see you are parting out a 2.5 carb. What gearcase? CLE or Sportmaster? Right or left rotation?
Regarding rentals. Can't help you too much there. You have been going to a lot of the places we go. I would try http://www.snowmobileworld.com and post there. Also call Big Moose Yamaha if you want to rent in the Old Forge area and if they don't as them who does. Their number is 315-357-2998. The Old Forge Chamber is 315-369-6983.
For Canada, Allan sold the Motel Ste Agathe. It is now a shopping center. If you want to go up toward St. Michele, St Zenon and such, go to http://www.zenwaiter.com Great site and VERY TRUTHFUL and HELPFUL!

Mike,
If you are interested in Canada, there is a place that rents Polaris' in St. Michele, right in town on the trail. They are XC 6's and 7's. (a few friends had to rents a few last year) A group of us are going up for a week leaving on 1/18/03, then again for a week in February. We stay right outside St. Michele in a condo on a lake right on the trail. If interested for more info let me know.

Polaris rider
Yes, the guy on the Polaris did that that day! It was his first ride of the season and he forgot over the summer that the trees don't move when they see you coming
I can't believe Motel St. Agathe is gone! That's my favorite location. Some great great great beer and young talent down that road in a couple of those bars!
I have to make plans soon. I think Canada is the best bet.

CLE
Shane, the gearcase is a CLE right hand. It looks to be an older style, it has the drain plug on the bottom of the bullet. There is also a plug on the carrier. It has 11 water inlet holes. I ran it once on my Skater and there were no problems. No play or wear. The gear oil was pretty dirty, no water, just black. I changed it before I ran it and I am going to change it again before I sell it.
