A recent thread on THT discusses Yamaha's use of Ford Motor Co. connecting rods on some outboard engines. The two companies partnered on some technology occasionally.

Have for years, remember the SHO Taurus?

So many companies do this type of thing, Toyota/GM; Suzuki/GM; Mazda/Ford, Toyota/ Subaru; etc.
