For someone wanting to plan a future trip to this event, what's the best place to stay in key west? My wife and I want to come for the festivities and races...we won't be bringing a boat. Thanks for any info.

Don't have a budget, start looking for a place next week. Rates for this week are the highest of the entire year AND they sell out WAY in advance. We've rented a house and tried re-renting it for the next year WHILE we were down there and it had been booked already. If you want the wild night life then the northern 1/2 of Duval street is where you'll be. Get as close to that as you can afford to stay.
