Valve springs coil binding, compression way down compared to what the guy wanted.
Video below is when he took it another builder (one in video is not original builder) to get it straightened out. Didn't go into detail, just said original builder refused to fix it.
He has, I think 2 videos from where he had it at Performance Research originally. But they were way back, 2ish years or so. I guess project sat awhile until he had time.
Highlights of video start at 32 minute mark.

I have used The following without issues- m&m in delaware and wasserbeck in prospect. I am tempted to check and see how Bob Proffits son is handling things at Performance Reaearch in Westerville. His dad seemed to know his stuff on engines but people either liked him or hated him, more on personality from what I gather. On just a mild 502 have them build it to merc HP500 specs and pick a good cam and roll with it.
Wasserback was my first choice, but their so busy on machine work they are no longer doing assembly.

I know someone that is supposed to be dropping off a set this week for rebuilds. I haven’t used him before so not sure of his work. However he has been around for a while.

I'm sure you know if they are a well known engine builder the waiting list times are probably going to be at least 1 yr or so. I know for certain heads are 3 months out on new ones most places, so I would be deciding as soon as possible if this is a serious project.
