I’ve used Tyler Crockett, Eddie Young and Dave Wesseldyk over the years, all very good.

Beware, apparently not very well. Coincidentally, just recently seen a video of some of his work.
Valve springs coil binding, compression way down compared to what the guy wanted.
Video below is when he took it another builder (one in video is not original builder) to get it straightened out. Didn't go into detail, just said original builder refused to fix it.
He has, I think 2 videos from where he had it at Performance Research originally. But they were way back, 2ish years or so. I guess project sat awhile until he had time.
Highlights of video start at 32 minute mark.

Griff's Engines in Sandusky. Talk with Gary. Great work, builds them to last. I've had 4 done by him over the years, not one complaint.

On just a mild 502 have them build it to merc HP500 specs and pick a good cam and roll with it.

Lately I have heard a lot of good about Wasserbeck.

Pretty high up the food chain in drag racing.

Wasserback was my first choice, but their so busy on machine work they are no longer doing assembly.

Fowler in Columbus? Don't know if all they're doing is superchargers anymore after acquiring Kobelco. They might still assemble.
That Mcvay in the video is just south of Mount Vernon. So nearer to you.

I know someone that is supposed to be dropping off a set this week for rebuilds. I haven’t used him before so not sure of his work. However he has been around for a while.

I'm sure you know if they are a well known engine builder the waiting list times are probably going to be at least 1 yr or so. I know for certain heads are 3 months out on new ones most places, so I would be deciding as soon as possible if this is a serious project.
