Mid to upper 20's for overnight lows will not cause any freezing issues in engines. General rule is 24* for 24 hours.

Not to assume that anybody in here would do it but make certain that the trouble light that you use in the bilge is NOT and LED, as they do not put out enough heat. I read of a couple of guys in Texas doing that and have=ing to replace blocks.

I have heard these kinds of numbers before...I added a couple of Golden Rods and a bilge heater to mine for peace-of-mind.

I drain my block here in Myrtle Beach. Plus my boat is inside. But it has been cold here. So I am gonna be a little nervous when I go check my boat out! I had no problem last year.

Couple days ago it was real windy, the tent poles got blown down overnight so i just pulled the covers of both boats.

Been watching the temps and this thread made me start wondering, this morning there was frost on everything, both engine blocks and exhaust manifolds read 33 to 34 1/2 degrees on the laser temp.

Long way from freezing but safe or sorry so might get droplights today, low watt bulbs should be plenty right ?
