Cant find a boat I saw browsing classifieds...
It was over 35' and it had #6 drives and superchargers. For $60k, doesnt that seem a little cheap? It looked a little neglected but not terrible. Thats the power setup I am looking for.

Some classics right there but no not what I had in mind. How much fuel will supercharged 540s or 572s with #6s use at 100 mph?

The size and weight of the boat in question has more than a little impact on your question and the answer. Assuming you're asking about something 35'+. most likely well under 1mpg, but to make the math easy, let's say it's 1mpg. That's 100 gallons per hour. $400/hour minimum based on current marina fuel costs. If it's actually 0.5mpg, then it's 200 gallons per hour. $800/hour. I'm sure someone smarter than me can follow up with more accurate numbers. |
Engine HP / 10 = GPH at WOT.
900 / 10 = 90 GPH or about 1.5 gallon per minute, per engine Fuel is about the smallest expense when it come to Performance boats |
These are great responses they really help put things in perspective. Definitely will change what I'm in the market for boat wise.

Did fountain have the first ventilated bottom boat? Anyone know when the first ones were produced and sold?

"Stepped hulls have been around since 1910 or so, when powerboat pioneers Gar Wood and Christopher Columbus Smith (founder of Chris-Craft), among others, used them on hydroplanes." |
