Beautiful 29!

Whatever happened to the 29 with the Gulf livery paint, wasnt it an Ilmor or 700 boat? The guy that had all the hydraulic gadgets...

I feel like there was a thread where the original owner was complaining about porpoising or something out in the ocean in a couple foot seas at open throttle. It was real strange....maybe I'm missing the details but it had me envisioning this little 29 footer out offshore and someone trying to run 100mph in it and complaining about it moving up and down. I get customers who are engineers and try to reinvent something I've been building my entire life with their own ideas, and then are unhappy when it doesn't perform as well as what I came up with over the last 2 decades. I sensed a lot of that with the Gulf build and Fiore. I could be wrong...just what it seemed like from the outside looking in.

I always was interested to see how fast that hull would go with the 725 in it.

Maybe some of these have been built off the radar, but I only remember about 5 of these being built so far. I got to ride in the orange one, which I believe was the first one built. What a wonderful little boat.
