Just so you know
it is a major pita to cross border with over 10 k cash
i bought many car boats and dtuff with wire transfer with good paper work...
where are you selling it maybe i know him!

I made the mistake of crossing the boarder with more than 10gs cash once to buy a race car. Huge mistake, made to feel like a criminal, thought a strip search was coming!

You can cross the border both ways with ANY amount of cash or negotiable instruments but you have to declare it to CBSA and CBP if over $10,000. A negotiable instrument would be something like a signed check made to cash with no payee. The buyer will have to deal CBSA with the import into Canada. Not your problem once funds in hand.
