IMP and Imperial are not the same but may be somehow related somewhere in the business papers. They both produced lower cost boats and don't hold value very well. IMP did make some performance boats in the 80's when everyone had to make performance boats(can you say Miami Vice). I have never seen one come apart but they are closer to a Bayliner than a Scarab.

I've seen some IMP's running around here, but I don't specifically remember much about the boats.

I used to get mailings from Raymonds Boat Sales on a regular basis. I think they are in the LOTO area??

I seem to remember that they were a IMP dealer. I might be wrong, but it may be worth a call to see what they can tell you. Here's a link to their site.
