Timely - i just ran across this. A fall from go-fast boat glory if there ever was one!! Yet still in business selling like hot cakes. I have a dealer less than a mile from me that can't keep these dumb things in stock they sell so fast. I agree they are dumb but from a business standpoint they are certainly are not . |

I dunno, looks like a blast to me, not to take the place of a real boat but to jump in one after work and blast around and have some fun I could see it.
I agree they can be fun, we had a jet boat before a real boat. They have they pros. |

I have a old SeaDoo twin jet similar in design. They are a blast, crazy fun. I am selling mine but that has more to do with the PITA old carb 2 strokes then the boat itself.

Why on earth would they put outboards on that instead of a pair of diesels?

Speaking of the tender garage - a pair of Cigarette PWC's would be a natural fit for a boat like this and that's where the whole lifestyle/branding approach begins to make perfect sense.

Keep building the same ol same ol V bottoms? That didn`t work out for Baja, Fountain, Active Thunder, Donzi, Black Thunder etc etc.
You wanna stay in business you need to grow. not be stuck in 1990 Donzi - I understand that changing their 1970's 22 classic rounded hull to more of a 1980's pad hull was quite successful. Nortech, Velocity, Hustler and I'm sure some others I can't think of have all come out with big 38-42ft outboard boats kind of a crossover day boat/performance boat. Howard's best seller is a v-hull catamaran hybrid 25ft boat that can surf and go fast so they were quite successful in adding an old V to an old cat. Nothing particularly "new" or innovative about coming out with a jetski unless I'm missing something. |

I guess I'm in the minority, but you know velocity has seen quite a surge in success/orders from their outboard option boats in past few years and they didn't switch to catamarans.
Fountain did it right by creating the Pellini brand for their catamarans and it was pretty affordable when they first came out.. Are you saying Fountain splashed his? Or you saying Fountain came up with the Pillini? Is the Fountain 34 cat based on the Pillini? I thought Statement ended up with the Pillini 34' situation. |
