Gas/Fuel is expensive, but how high before you would change your plans?

I thought would start a gas/fuel thread a little different than the current “Gas” thread.
I was driving home from work and passed a gas station that was at $4.25/gallon for regular gas. My brother was with me and asked “how high before I change my plans and scale back?”.
I thought that was a great question to ask here.
My boat is very small and mild (Formula 242LS 502 Mag MPI) compared to many of yours (We are one of those dreamer/droolers), but we still love to attend poker runs (as spectators) and watch many of you run hard. I know what I can burn running hard in an afternoon and can’t imagine what some of you may burn.
I told my brother the season is so short up here in MI and we only use the ole girl about 50 hrs/season, I’m still all in but I have started thinking and done the math a couple times with fuel prices and 100 gallon tank…..and I am on a trailer, can’t imagine what marina gas will be.
So the question to you all is this:
How much per gallon before you start thinking of scaling back your boating plans?

Definitely not looking forward to filling up the 100 gallon tank, plus the tow rig which has the 36 gallon tank. It would have to be pretty high, maybe 6 or 7 a gallon. Like others said.. it's a hobby... Some years are good, others ain't. My only hope is it will keep the boat ramps less crowded. But honestly around here... Most of them are johnny fisherman with 150 outboards or smaller. Won't effect them to much.

I bought my first tank full,4.39 for 93oc. My maintaince usually takes me till late June. If gas got to high, I may run it in my truck to get to work. Then,I guess I'll take her down town Toledo for the 4th of July., and stay right in front of the marina to go swimming,fishing. I wonder if antifreeze will be 20$ a gallon in the fall, or 30.

My pig holds 510 gallons. I'll still be using it but will definitely be sticking closer to home.

As many have said above. We will be in the boat for sure but we will hang at the stops for longer periods rather then ripping thru 250 gallons a day like last year. Get ready to see an even bigger price drop for inboards. My guess is that we will see $7.00 a gallon on the water. I have paid $6.00 in the past and it takes the fun out of it.
