Boats and airplanes will just never work well with electric power as long as a battery source is required. Someone develops a safe nuclear/hydrogen/alien technology solution then the sky is the limit...but not until then. But kudos to Yamaha for being at the forefront of the propulsion end of things.

Neat. When we get to do the great loop someday, I plan to build out a hybrid drive system with as many solar panels as I can.
Even if it's just putting 2-3 electric outboards on the back and building out some custom battery setup. By 2035 can't wait to see what tech is available.

just my useless opinion but batteries are not the future. I think that someone will come up with a power source for electric that we have never heard of or can imagine. remember that when star trek and dick tracy came out everyone thought the idea of a wrist video phone or interstellar communication was a science fiction fantasy but look at us now. until a "battery" that is safe to manufacture, use and recycle is created then electric is just a dirtier engine that makes liberals feel good.
