Quite close.

vr1 has 1400 zinc 1300 phosphorous

The only caveat to the second viscosity number is that it`s measured at 100*C (212*) .
For example a 15-50 weight oil has 50W oil viscosity at 212* , my engines run oil temp at 170-180* at cruise so Am I never seeing 50w , is it somewhere between 15-50? That`s above my paygrade..
A straight weight oil is not going to have that problem.

Good info here from K1.

My STOCK 496HO main bearing clearance were .002" 1thru4. .0025" #5. Typical tight GM production line specs. Hence why Merc 40w is recommended spec.


main bearings after 600ish hours on $12 15w40.
