Jay,
That is one BEAUTIFUL FORD!!! Mine is a Metallic Midnight Blue, 95' Cr.cab, non-4x4 DRW, with 95,000 miles on her and I have only replaced the batteries once, a glow plug controller once! I have had a few paint problems, and Ford has helped me out with those! I'm going to wait for the 6.0 to get de-bugged, then approach HQ about ordering a new FORD PSD!! MD |
I know you chevy and Dodge guys are like WOW Maybe I should git me one of them their fawrds
Note, My trans am memory will live on the front bumper with the Pontiac Racing plate and the back, well that was a present from my wife last year as an Xmas present the Baja racing decal, figured, hell might look okay and if not, just peel it back off she loved it and I think it looks pretty good Jason |
Very nice Jay, although I am a little bias....being a Ford Crew-Cab owner myself,....Fred
|
Jason,
You have good reason to be very proud. NICE TRUCK, MAN!!!!! :D :D :D |
Thanks guys
Man she drives as smooth as my wife's mercedes SL500 hugs the road, stops on the DIME, and gets looks whereever you go, Most people dont even realize it is not a custom paint job, it is 100% factory, I got real close with the camera and tried to get the shiny metallic but for some reason, it does not show up on the camera like you see it in person. At night, under the big parking lot lights, it sort of changes color to a purple Freakin awesome. Love driving this Im at 400 miles already and on first tank of gas too Jason |
sweet ride! ..I saw one in this color over the weekend at a dealer...the pics don't do it justice!
Great color...:D |
Jay,
Don't you mean, "First tank of DIESEL"?! MD |

VERY NICE TRUCK JAY !
DAMN, you must have more money than GOD!!! lets see, you own a house, wife has a mercedes SL500, you're getting two new engines built and dynoed, you have a big boat, and now you have..... A FRICKIN NEW DUALLY!?!?! MAN, let me in on your secret. |
jayl13 nice truck, did the bumpers come painted from the factory or is this a coustom package?i like the color.
|
its called im POOR
Yeah good catch, first tank of diesel My boat I bought moneywise very very cheap. The house, I have been rebuilding since the day I moved in, everything was 25 yrs old and beat to hell. Boat was all origional and neglected. Mercedes I bought used (1999 model just bought in Oct of this year) I look for deals, I dont care about turning wrenches and dont care about what my labor is worth. I am not rich, I dont have secrets, I work really hard in the network engineering department head of a little mastercard company. I work about 50 hrs a week, This dyno money im paying is killing me cause the boat is nice but it is never going to be a 42 fountain or 41 apache or the like. I cant keep up with those guys but I can beat my old bayliner!!! (well this spring I should be able to) I bought this boat because it is big but it is not huge. I could not afford huge, I still cant afford huge but when it is time Ill have the truck part that can pull huge. When I do things like buy cars and stuff, I think way into the future and say , okay this can serve a purpose now, but what will my needs be in say 5 yrs, 10 yrs? This crew cab will be around for a LONG ass time with me. Has 4 doors, 8 foot bed, 410's and diesel. There is no reason that this truck should not be around for a long time. Plus I sacrificed my TA and my pickup for it, saved $$$ in insurance, the truck I had cost me 250 a month in fuel alone, so this is saving me that alone so I did this to save money, we are going to refi the house since the rates are so damn low, going to take the prepayment penalty in the origional mortgage contract cause I can save myself about 300 bones per month alone in interest and that will also include PAYING OFF THE BAJA completely (home eq loan) I learned alot of this from other OSO members cause I asked the same questions, cause I want a bigger boat (with no problems) and so on and so on. Do what you can do, be proud of what you have and enjoy it. I dont have the fastest, the best, the prettiest or most wild boat out there, but im damn proud to say its mine and when I pull into dave and busters, and everyone hears me, I get the best feeling in the world. My club (NJPPC) they are a bunch of cool guys cause they dont descriminate against you cause you dont have a 120 MPH boat. if you feel bad or dont love your boat, make it a goal to try to move up, but your doing better than the guy standing on the shore looking at you with binoculars wishing he had yours and thinking the same thing your asking me. Believe me I was the land lubber for 15-17 yrs This is my first real boat and im doing everything I can do to get it out there and running. Keep plugging away and make good money decisions, you will end up out front soon enough! Jason |
Rob it is the XLT sport package,
Bumpers are painted from factory Chrome nerf bars, Painted grill and door handles, carbon fiber interior and 2 tone gray seats and black carpets First year of the sport. you will start seeing them as they are attracting alot of people, Dodge has had a sport for years, im suprised it took ford so long to follow suit Jason |
Thats a nice looking truck. To big though, when it breaks your going to need a real big chevy to tow it. well maybe not :D :D
|
Nice Rig...:D
|
Sweet!
Especially the Baja sticker on the back. I love my 2002 F350 Dually. One thing that is nice about them is that they will part the seas of the highway. I find that people WILL get out of your way. LOL |
Jason, Man that is a sweet truck. I am ready now to go get one. I went and test drove one on saturday and i new to get one now. But i will have to get an all white one though and that color is awesome.
|
wife got it off of ebay from some home grown decal maker
was a few bucks I think I might want an apache symbol on the tail gate NEXT (god if my wife reads this im a dead man) Thanks guys, at least SOMETHING has gone right for me this year Jason |
You mean we might find you with a tomahawk in the back of your head:D :D :D
|
Beautiful Truck !
I really like the Baja decal.
Does it have the 7.3 or the 6.0 ? I heard they were making them with the 6.0 now and was not sure which one you have. You cannot go wrong either way, the 7.3 is a great motor. I've been towing with a dually since 95 and I would highly recommend a set of mud flaps for the rear. I found without them, the rear tires will provide an ample supply of rock chips on the boat and trailer. I mounted mine so they set about 2.5" off of the road when towing the boat and it eliminated the problem. Again, that is one fine looking truck. |
Now get that boat hooked up behind it and you'll be set:D Good luck with the truck!.
P.S. If and when you break down give me a call and I'll pull you home with my DODGE:D :D :D |
Nice truck man! Welcome to the POWERStoke family.

I loved my turbo F - 350. Your gonna love yours.

Well I hunted the dealers inventory on the east coast through www.fordvehicles.com and finally found it in Kennet square PA (same dealer I was going to but different location)
It is the 7.3 PSD 4x4 sport, the 6.0's are being made now but not getting to the dealers until all the 7.3's are gone. Little leary of the "new engine guinea pig program" that these manufacturers do to people (poor AudioFN with his 99 power stroke auto trans mess) but Also your not going to get any money off of sticker on the new 6.0 PSD's for at least a year. Im not A plan so I gotta bend over and take it. I went for the 7.3 cause I dont care about the noise, like my boat with dry pipes is not loud enough, what the hell this thing has noise to it but does not bother me. Way I look at it, I got the last of the PSD's that are reliable until about 2004-2005 when the bugs get worked out of the new 6.0 PSD and the new 5 speed auto trans they are making. same skin on the trucks but completely re-engineered. Let me tell you it is like driving a caddy. Smoothest most responsive truck I have ever owned. Have not driven a dodge in a few years and chevy I have had personal bad luck with (just ride like a vehicle with no suspension and the rattles and squeaks and shimmy's from drive shafts are enough to drive you to the end of the rope) If chevy is like a rock you find in your back yard, this thing is like a freakin boulder the size of Denver! If they put this same 7.3 PSD in all these F650's F750's and school busses and some smaller tractor trailer type box trucks I think it will do just fine for me and my baja Ohhh hand warmer on the tail gate, Nice!!! I thought that was to melt the snow so when the chevy and dodge trucks are behind you, you did not screw up their visability from snow blowing off of your tailgate!!! (see Ford tries to be nice to you all that are lagging behind) Plus I would like to see one of us try to move an 11,200 lbs truck even on a flat surface!! Jason |
God im dying to tow something with this
ANyone need a boat moved around or anything? LOL Jason |
Beautiful Truck, Jay. Good luck with it!:D

I got off the phone with my Ford dealer just before I read this thread. I have a 99 F 150 Lariat 4x4 with 103K miles and today was the first day I had to have work done on it. The abs light was on, found out it was a $25 sensor.:) Best truck I've ever owned. I pull my boats, and my travel trailer with no problem. I also do tile work, and I WAY overload it with material. It has been a true work horse. Last week I decided I needed a new F 250 4x4 Lariat. The dealer had one that was gorgeous, red/silver that would match my Formula perfectly! The only reason I didn't buy it was because it is a crew cab, I want a supercab. The wheelbase on that monster was 189 or 199 inches! You can't turn it around in a Home Depot parking lot! I am going with the 5.4 gas again. No problems at all with it, and I don't think you'll ever recoup the $6K extra the diesel option will cost. I haven't found anything yet the 5.4 won't pull. I had a brand new 95 Chevy diesel dually, had nothing but trouble with it, finally ended up lemon lawing it.:( Paid $40K for it, beautiful truck, but a pos. I found out the hard way that you don't go thru the bank drive thru with a dually. I got stuck, and had to get out and get everyone else in line to back up so I could get out.:( Quite emabarassing! Hence the reason for no dually, and no diesel.

BULL****
You go back to that dealer and tell them that is a bunch of horse ****!!! The 6.0's are NOT out yet so you can get a 2003 at a discount with the 7.3 PSD, Dont let them snow you unless you specifically WANT a 6.0 You tell them what YOU want. If they are not willing to work with you , then tell them to go suck monkey turds out of a fat chicks ass Dont take that crap lying down. I hate car dealers, I hated the car dealer I got this ford from, and I cant stand when they start pulling your balls to make your ears clap, they have hold back, incentives, ect and special financing and Ford just extended truck month, so that is a total BULL**** lie, You go back there and ask to see the 2003 PSD 7.3 Liter and they have them , they can get them, and they can discount the hell out of them. Freakin dealers want to make like 9 grand on each deal, dude this is not 1978 your not going to make a KILLER deal off of people buying cars new. Jesus that really sucks, I would head elsewhere and tell another dealer, LOOK this is what I have, this is what I want and this is what I want to pay, either you can or cant make this happen and POOF im gone. I got seriously jerked aorund with my ford dealer and I hate their freakin guts for it but I have my truck and I did pay more than what I wanted but htis truck was few and far between. Law of supply and demand Good luck and dont let them jerk you off Stand your ground Jason |
So J-L....how do you really feel......??:D :D
Very nice ride man, and you are 100% correct with your explination of how you afford the toys. I have had my fair share of toys, it was all accomplished by being selective and looking for deals. Good for you, enjoy your toys. Later.;) |
Well it is a shame I got rid of the trans am (thought I was going to the grave with that thing) but alas, there will be another
Yeah I dont have a kabillion bones to spend on toys like most of us so I look for what has the potential to become something fantastic with some work (and tool throwing and swearing and getting all tweaked over dumb issues) but that is another thread Anyway, some people just buy their way up the ladder, I personally choose to build my own ladder one rung at a time. Jason |
Jay,
Happy birthday #32 Dude:D :D |
Thanks Cal, Hey long time no see LOL
Im trying to ignore the fact that im turning into an old tart Where does the time go? well there is part of my answer, I must have half Heimers, Not allsheimers, cant remember where the time went. Anyway Thanks bro, appreciated Jason |
Nice ride Jason!! Color is deep!!! Happy Birthday!!!!
|
Great looking truck, best of luck with it..
|
Well A New (2002) Z28 with 6 speed would run 12's if you got awesome traction and lowered the air pressure in the tires bone stock. Just FYI LOL (ex ram air owner)
So far (400 miles on it now) it is doing really well in fuel economy but is there any way to make it get more MPG just as it sits? Any chips and modules help with that at all? Not complaining at all dont get me wrong but if I can cut its fuel consumption down a hair, then I can save more for that apache that is required on the back of this super flashy truck! Any ideas for that? Thanks Jason |
