I'm looking at a 1990 American Super Hawaii 34' with 502's and Bravos on triple axle trailer. Carb'd 502's so no idea what HP they are rated at. Staggered motors with hydraulic steering.

I never heard of these before. Anyone know anything about them.

It is listed by a classic car dealer and owner is a customer/friend. He was sold Ferrari's and other cars for the guy. Guy has lots of money but wants to free up storage space.

Says it is low hours but doesn't know exactly how many. It has been sitting for a couple years, mostly inside but outside since spring. Has some stress cracks and interior is dirty but cabin is clean. Will need a thorough clean up and probably service. He is going to contact owner to get more info.

Here's the best thread about Kitami and his Super Hero/Hawaii boats. The 34 for sale looks to be in rough condition and probably would cost plenty more to restore than it'd be worth. Hang in there for another object, I believe twin BBC offshore boats are coming down in price pretty quick at the moment, except the ones which have been restored lately to such a high standard that they basically compete with newly produced boats. Look at the 1987 Team Scarab 38' which was Larry Smith's personal boat. Insane build quality, newer power with few hours, and $60k on a new trailer. It sure was priced to sell quickly, but I think most comparable boats will have to get priced aggressively soon. Outboard-powered boats, no matter the size, and center consoles will probably keep their value for the foreseeable future.

I texted the dealer back and told him that I would want a survey done and a sea trial before purchase and haven't heard back from him. Not sure if he is trying to get ahold of the owner or just got scared off. The boat is local to me so I don't mind taking a look at it but at this point, I don't have high expectations.

You will be grinding on those stress cracks forever.

Interesting that it has stress cracks. I ran mine 17 summers on Lake Michigan and had a lot of fun. No stress cracks. With stock 454 Mags (365hp), mine ran 68 mph.I believe those carbed 502s were 415. Make sure the bottom is straight in the last 6'. You will love the way it runs in 4' waves. It knifes through and when you do launch off a wave it will fly flat.
