Well, according to the BAM speed calculator, you would have to weigh in at only 6,375#'s to do 96 with 940hp (470x2).

Assumming a super efficient v-hull, I bumped the hull efficiency constant to 275 (std cat constant, not a V!) then you're at 7,713#'s.

That's still a bit light of the 8300# min for a 38' F2 boat? So no disrespect meant, it'd be way cool, but I'm gonna have to pull out the BS card! At least until I see a GPS photo while underway...

BTW... D@mn fine looking boat though!

What was wrong with the hull? 96 seems a stretch for 38', boat doesn't look bad. Kind of looks like a cig w/ no freeboard. Any cabin? How much headroom and amenities for 225,000.00

I saw the speedo teltale at 94 in New Orleans so I don't doubt they found a few more mph when they adjusted something.

Hey, Reggie gets em to 105 with 500s,,,, right?

Yeah with full canopied race boats. This boat is supposed to be a pleasure boat. This is very misleading to those interested. Even if it did run 96, add a cabin, water tank, etc., a full pleasure interior, and the boat is no faster than anything in its class. Most consumers who will spend 225,000 aren't gonna spend it on a 38' with no cabin. If we wanted a stripped down low freeboard boat, we could buy a 120+MPH cat for less $$$.

ron, that could have been 94 KILOMETERS per hour

the boat may be able to run 94 or 96 or 90 something, but unless it's 104 or 106 or 100 something it's no SBI F2 boat. those crazy SBI F2's were passing the outboard cats. crazy.

they should take the ITS off so they can run in APBA. if it runs 90 something then it would run well in APBA.

nice looking boat, but just out of place with all the canopy boats in SBI. how does the Outlaw F2 boat compete with the fountains?

I met the Bad Boys at the SBI NewAwlins event- they just seemed to be real honest, hard working boatracers to me. I do not believe they would try to BS anyone.

BTW The hull is a cousin of the Scarab 38 KV.
