Hauling Trash 11-25-2002 06:00 PM

length- 38 ft , power- it`s got 500efi . Handle- just got it work out ,Like a dream

Hauling Trash 11-25-2002 06:02 PM

Price---It`s going to go for 200.000 to 225.000

MPH120 11-25-2002 06:41 PM

Thats a big increase from the worlds in New Orleans. Must have dialed it in. Seemed a little nose heavy, though.

Hauling Trash 11-25-2002 06:54 PM

We fix the hull

Yes all dialed in

Pure Energy 11-25-2002 06:56 PM

A 38' going 96.5 mph with 500 efi.....how much does it weigh....10lbs?

Panther 11-25-2002 06:58 PM

Not Bad

At first sight I thought it was a Top gun or an Apache. Nice looking ride, good luck with it!

SABER28 11-25-2002 07:15 PM

ken:D

no 38 ft. 500 efi's is going 96, unless you can defy the laws of physics

dean campbell 11-25-2002 07:15 PM

man that's hauling ass for a 38 ft with 500efi's

what's the dry weight?

Shorty 11-25-2002 08:16 PM

Well, according to the BAM speed calculator, you would have to weigh in at only 6,375#'s to do 96 with 940hp (470x2).

Assumming a super efficient v-hull, I bumped the hull efficiency constant to 275 (std cat constant, not a V!) then you're at 7,713#'s.

That's still a bit light of the 8300# min for a 38' F2 boat? So no disrespect meant, it'd be way cool, but I'm gonna have to pull out the BS card! :D At least until I see a GPS photo while underway... ;)

BTW... D@mn fine looking boat though! :)

MPH120 11-25-2002 08:36 PM

What was wrong with the hull? 96 seems a stretch for 38', boat doesn't look bad. Kind of looks like a cig w/ no freeboard. Any cabin? How much headroom and amenities for 225,000.00

Jassman 11-25-2002 08:45 PM

are you sure you don't mean 86.5:p :D

Hauling Trash 11-25-2002 09:25 PM

96.5 on GPS

Ron P 11-25-2002 09:29 PM

I saw the speedo teltale at 94 in New Orleans so I don't doubt they found a few more mph when they adjusted something.

Hey, Reggie gets em to 105 with 500s,,,, right?

More photos at http://www.homestead.com/njoffshore/...ansorbust.html

Hauling Trash 11-25-2002 09:32 PM

Thank you ...... Ron

MPH120 11-25-2002 09:50 PM

Yeah with full canopied race boats. This boat is supposed to be a pleasure boat. This is very misleading to those interested. Even if it did run 96, add a cabin, water tank, etc., a full pleasure interior, and the boat is no faster than anything in its class. Most consumers who will spend 225,000 aren't gonna spend it on a 38' with no cabin. If we wanted a stripped down low freeboard boat, we could buy a 120+MPH cat for less $$$.

Dredgeking 11-25-2002 09:54 PM

ron, that could have been 94 KILOMETERS per hour ;) :D

the boat may be able to run 94 or 96 or 90 something, but unless it's 104 or 106 or 100 something it's no SBI F2 boat. those crazy SBI F2's were passing the outboard cats. crazy.

they should take the ITS off so they can run in APBA. if it runs 90 something then it would run well in APBA.

nice looking boat, but just out of place with all the canopy boats in SBI. how does the Outlaw F2 boat compete with the fountains?

Bulldog 11-25-2002 10:48 PM

I met the Bad Boys at the SBI NewAwlins event- they just seemed to be real honest, hard working boatracers to me. I do not believe they would try to BS anyone.

BTW The hull is a cousin of the Scarab 38 KV.

Bulldog aka Ronnie

BRUCE SEROFF 11-25-2002 11:03 PM

Hey Mike ...we are back from KW

I see you ve been havin fun while we were gone.

Ron P 11-26-2002 12:13 AM

The next one is supposed to be a canopied version for Wazzup to step up to Super V.

Outlaw is out of its class in SBI F2.

Remember, it's like 45 degrees and real dry here this time of year.

MPH120, no one is trying to sell anything here. He's just sharing what happened and I thought the photos would answer some questions. Once it gets an interior, Mike will probably report those results too.

Hey hand it to the guy. He builds fiberglass pools and this is his first ever hull. He'll tell ya that he used the Scarab KV as a model for the sides, but the bottom is his own.

It'll be running in our local NJ races next summer and some others, so we'll see how she goes.

AugiePensa 11-26-2002 06:51 AM

The Jersey Boyz are back from KW,Bruce,Hello Friendly Cab!!!!!!!!SBI should move their World Finals BACK to Key West......Thanks SMITTY!!!!!!!! Congrats to Team TYPHOON

Wildchild212 11-26-2002 08:05 AM

Mike the boat looks great. ;) I would have to say that there are a lot of people that would by a boat with no cabin. I dont think the Gladiator has a whole lot of cabin in it. and I dont think they give that boat away. (I would have one if they did :D ) Anyway have fun with the boats and hope you have the best of luck.
Mark

T2x 11-26-2002 09:22 AM

What's a cabin?

T2x;)

Dredgeking 11-26-2002 09:37 AM

cabins are for "cabin cruisers".

Luke_Chinewalker 11-26-2002 10:36 AM

96.5 mph w/hp500efi's

Hauling Trash 11-26-2002 04:26 PM

YES 96.5 mph with 500 efi The boat weighs 7600 pd.

Come to New Jersey and come for a ride in the Bad Boy.

Mike

Mike 35 Fountain 11-26-2002 07:18 PM

correct me if I'm wrong but i heard the top deck is scarab and hull is fountain copy ?

Smittymarine 11-26-2002 08:17 PM

I watched this boat from plug to finish. Bad boys step bottom no copy. Designed to do one thing. Eat Fountains. I had the boat in the ocean the other day, no one is lying about the speed, and there is more there, We were all over the limiters. Best part is the boat turns like it is on rails. Dont believe me? Ask the fishing fleet we buzzed of Seaside.

Dredgeking 11-26-2002 08:25 PM

what was done between new orleans and now? what corrections were made?

Panther 11-26-2002 08:28 PM

Nice

You guys must be friggin cold out there? I haven't been on my boat in over a month. It is srink wrapped and all put away. You guy's are diehard boaters. I would be freezing my azz off!!

Good job with the boat, I hope to see it at the Waters Edge next summer.

riskybusiness 11-26-2002 08:29 PM

'Nice lookin' boat, bro.....:D

I'd be curious to see the rest of the bottom---the spray in the picture hides alot.

I'm a fan of the lines on the old SCARABS, anyway---so I love the look of topsides myself:)

I would want a cabin, though....

Smittymarine 11-26-2002 08:30 PM

Lowerd the inboard lifting strakes to stop the chine walk, Turned in the props.

Smittymarine 11-26-2002 08:33 PM

Cabin is unfinished on this one, but there is a lot of room in there for a pleasure version. Bad boys is currently building a 32 step v and a 32 cat as well.

sauron 11-26-2002 08:37 PM

I met Tony at NO and was real impressed with his knowledge and hope this new venture works out for him. A very nice guy.

Dredgeking 11-26-2002 08:39 PM

smitty, you have to tell us about the cat. you've been holding out on us.

Hauling Trash 11-27-2002 07:23 PM

Cat story comes in the spring..... It should be done by feb

Smittymarine 11-27-2002 08:31 PM

I could tell you but then I would have to ## you. All I can say for now is picture a ZR1 corvette and you are close. Really sharp looker

audacity 11-28-2002 06:19 AM

why would you build a race boat that is not legal for APBA F2 and not competitive for SBI F2 class?...

just my personal .02....take the ITS off, get rid of the 500's and put 525's in it and go race APBA....let your results speak for the boat....win a race or two and you wlll be sold out for a year!

Hauling Trash 11-28-2002 08:58 AM

First-- It`s not a race boat

Second--He took it to N.O. to show it off.

Third-- It took first in P2 class ,So it`s a World Champion

Fourth--When its done it will run APBA and kick ass.

come for a ride.

Mike
