These lowers have both. The normal side pickups and the lower water pickup in the front of the bullet.

I will have to start another thread once the project begins as it will take pictures to really show our concept for this boat. As for insurance I have not really thought about that. I paid cash for the boat and worse case I can get a surveyor to inspect the boat once completed if the insurance company asks. This is not my 1st project boat, I have done many over the years. Last year I completed the conversion from inboard to outboard on a full race 368 skater, the year before that I built a 32 active thunder CC with a nortech console and full front lounger.

Thanks I will appreciate the thread and any input I really want to do the same thing to a similar twin engine bowrider in the 28-30 range. Due you to this as a hobby or your profession? I have a condo in Bonita if you have a shop I would love to discuss my plans with you sometime

Didn't only XR's come with the finned reinforced top cap that those drives appear to have?

Absolutely will share details. This is just a hobby for me and my wife, we usually build one boat per year. I am getting older now so that pace might slow down a bit. LOL.

Dont hate the messenger but OBs tend to run faster for a given HP.

Lighter weight, CG shifted back, and more conservative HP ratings than billy bobs dyno trim with a wishful correction factor.

I don't think all XRs had the finned top caps. But yeah if they're on there it's likely they're XRs

As of now the boat is a bone stock 343 cobalt. What would you like pictures of? The fun modifications don't start until the engines and drives sell.

I have a 343 and it is pretty tight between the corners above the extended platform. Should be a Cool project.
