Default Fountain: 89 Executioner or 97 27 Fever?

Still shopping....

97 27 Fountain Fever w/500 Blue Block
OR
89 Fountain 10 meter Executioner w/fresh 500s

I'm guessing both are mid to upper 70mph boats.

Strong opinion on one vs the other? Upper Chesapeake Bay cruising, no offshore runs, not trying to get to 100mph but rather a fun reliable boat to cruise around in on occasion,

Both are asking 35-40k with trailer for both.

Check them both very carefully for moisture in transom and stringers, if only one has moisture, buy the other one!

If both are wet, be prepared for lots of work. If both are dry, and engine maintenance doesn’t bother you, I’d go with the bigger boat. Size matters!

In those water's I would get the 10 meter hands down. You can do a lot with that boat around there and will use the bigger cabin.

That is an apples to oranges comparison. Totally different boats other than both are Fountains.

If the exhaust tips come through the transom with a plastic beauty ring- the transom is toast. This is true for all used fountains.

I agree..apples to oranges. Put condition aside for a moment:

Do you want a single or twins? The 27 is a lake boat with a tiny gas tank. The 10 meter is a classic for sure but old hardware.

Other than price I don't see cross shopping these two. But all things considered if the 10 meter presents as good as the much newer 27....go bigger.

The 10 meter will let you go out on the boat most days. With the 27 you'll be concerned about winds and waves.
