I think these engines must have been done for a dealer, Fountain used Troy Dennis and Innovation out of Sarasota area. Like someone said before Mercury squashed that pretty quick. Had a pair of CMC Engines in a 35 fountain 572's w/ 12/71blowers, IMCO shortys, Hydromotive P-5's, ran 123mph. Bottom was blueprinted by Fountain, ran like it was on rails. Broke a lot of drives

Is the prop hub solid ? I am wondering if it is not and is slipping?

So, this drive was on boat and working fine with previous engine ? No prop slip issues ? Did it have that cooler ? Same depth ?

I always bring drive coolers up with slip issues because i too, had a cooler that’s pickup was making my prop slip. I raised it to almost flush with cavitation plate, and bam, slip went back to normal. Never would have believed it. Since then, have seen others run into it too.

I skimmed through this thread and couldn't find what exhaust and flame arrestor you are running vs dyno trim. Unless you were running full marine trim on the dyno.
Also, my friends 27' I use to run only liked Hydromotive nose cones. Granted it was a straight bottom hull and different than you step bottom, but it would run 98 with a NA 565. Do you have e any pics or videos of the boat running so we can see the attitude and how wet the hull may be?

LOL! Brother I wouldn’t borrow a drive. Too worried I’d mess something up even if I’d paid for the fix.

Yes I grew up at the lake but mainly boat over in Illinois at a smaller lake. Looking to get a place or at least a slip eventually just not sure where yet. Ivr
got three little ones so Tablerock might be better with an occasional trip to LOTO.

Too funny man! So you had a drag racing shop build your engines too? 😂 In all seriousness, sounds like you were happy with the CMC build?

They’re good guys. Super busy but the sign of a good shop. I think what they built for me is solid for the most part I just need to find the missing link.

I met Chip back in 1988 Or so when I was 6-7 years old. He was building a Checkmate for us at the time. Funny I Bumped into him 30 years later and remembered.

The CMC engines came on a different boat, had some hours on them and then Bob Teague went through them. Bob changed a few things and it added some more HP. Great engines just hard on those IMCO's
