That’s great to hear you had a good experience with them overall though.

Bleek - with the brutal slip #’s , most of us agree somethings up with prop or boat.
His dyno sheet is wuite low for what i would expect that combo to make. I believe some sort of tune issue or hardpart (ignition or carb ) issue. Again, that cam is not huge. Should make best power propped for my estimate of 5500-5600rpm.

Good info being discussed. Very interested to see what the lurking issues are.

btw: may have missed it. Was best prop for last motor put on ? And how did that perform ? Anything to outdrive changed since last motor ?
I checked timing again this evening… was told timing should be 34* above 5000. It showed 20* at 1100 idle, 40* at 3000, 40* at 4000 and 40* at 5000.

Timing is way too high. However this would likely only reduce power. Not sure how or why this was missed during tuning!!

Yes, I am referring to Jim's old boat. I believe he ran a labbed 28 Bravo 1.

I was running a Hydromotive P5X 24 at around 5400rpm.

Yup, too high for sure. I wouldn’t expect (we can hope though ) much of a power difference though.

Yes I grew up at the lake but mainly boat over in Illinois at a smaller lake. Looking to get a place or at least a slip eventually just not sure where yet. Ivr
got three little ones so Tablerock might be better with an occasional trip to LOTO.
had a place on TR for 10+ years, beautiful lake and area for motor cycle riding

How was it ran on the dyno?

They didn’t run it with my headers I do know that. I hear there is some power loss with wet headers.

Let's get that prop biting, and the timing under control. Dyno Headers and flame arrestors are not the issue right now, prop slip is the problem. 27 Fevers like left hand props, what do you have? has the prop ever bumped anything? Sand? Mud? Rocks? Any nicks in the blades? One time through sand and you've probably knocked it out of pitch. In your pictures it looks like that propellor has some scratches in it, thats a good sign its seen the bottom up close. Has the propellor had any work done to it? Can we see pictures of the transom, Drive, propellor, and bottom of boat? We need to find you a standard Bravo lower. Try raising your drive shower or take it off all the way to get that out of the way. Which side did you install the dogbone on the trim rams? Baby Steps, I wouldn't worry about the engine except for the timing.

Once the slip is under control, a/f is typically 1 full number richer with the flame arrester and wet exhaust.
